Was gonna say, I listened to this on my drive home from Tulsa. It really is essence of girl bitterness at dating, but mainly taken out on one (maybe not-so-poor, but certainly undeserving) schlub who had the misfortune to be *near* somebody else's bad dating experience.
Women and men hunt for different things when dating, and this whole story is prima facie evidence thereof.
I abandoned Twitter and have barely ingested any news sans the NYT newsletter by David Leonhardt about three weeks ago. Definitely not a story that is TikTok specific but more a story about how innocuous things can be taken to some weird places because of the network effect of sharing things on the Internet.
Loved the audio format! I'm so busy I barely have time to read text anymore. Also, so glad I left the dating scene 23 years ago. This stuff is nuts! Social media is a disease.
