Hi all!
To all my OG readers — I’m OK everything is OK do not panic! This is not one of those posts! Everything is really good!
So as per usual things have been a bit hectic around here — on top of all of my usual work/content output I’ve started a weekly podcast with Noam Blum, Ambitious Crossover Attempt, which if you are not already listening what are you waiting for?
In my never-ending quest to balance all the stuff I have going on plus leave myself a tiny bit of downtime I’ve been rethinking my Substack schedule and what kind of content I bring you guys. Our pod episodes go live on Mondays at 9:30 EST (excluding last week but that’s another story) so I don’t want to step on that by releasing a Substack post on Monday, Tuesday is also pod promo day, etc. Here is where the scheduling issues come into play — I don’t like to write out posts days in advance but doing an 800 - 1000 word piece in the middle or end of the week doesn’t work well for me as far as scheduling. Plus there is the perennial issue every content creator runs into when making content for multiple platforms; how do I not cannibalize content? I know it’s technically fine to discuss the same story on a pod and in a Substack post but, I don’t know, I just don’t like repeating content.
On top of all that there may be some content things brewing in the aXo universe, which I am extremely excited about but again your girl only has so much time in a day.
Here is the question — would you guys enjoy smaller posts, say 150 - 200 words per piece, if that meant I could give more of them? I’m thinking something along the lines of an elongated Twitter post, where I can flesh out an idea a little more than I can on that platform but still keep it bite-sized. I could also make more audio posts, if I got my act together and figured out how to make them into a thing you can get in your podcast catcher would you enjoy that?
My main thing is that I want to make you guys content that you will enjoy and so I want your input. Hell, some of you even give me money for this, and for that I am eternally thankful. And hey, if you have any other ideas for content creation on this platform let me know in the comments, I’m all ears!
I'm on board with more frequent but shorter posts.
The podcast is great, by the way.
